Actolind® w Gel Product Description

Actolind® w Gel is a protective care gel that can be used in combination with medical materials such as bandages, dressings, tampons or wound fillers for the cleansing, decontamination and moisturising of acute and chronic wounds, infected or not, and 1st and 2nd degree burns.

Properties of Actolind® w Gel

Actolind® w Gel cleans, moisturizes and separates the wound surface from the external surface by forming a protective film layer. It fills the gap between the dressing and the wound surface and helps shorten the healing process by keeping the wound stable. Dermatologically evaluated as 'Excellent', this gel is biocompatible and well tolerated.

Usage

Actolind® w Gel can be applied directly to the wound, or it can be applied to a bandage or gauze. It is recommended that the opened product be used on a single patient to prevent the risk of contamination. The wound should be cleaned and cared for at regular intervals, and the entire wound and its surroundings should be thoroughly cleaned with Actolind® w Solution.

Indications

Actolind® w Gel is used in the care of acute and chronic wounds, infected or not, 1st and 2nd degree burns, insertion sites of urological catheters, peristomal skin, fistulas and abscesses. It is also used for the care, moisturizing and covering of the wound surface with a protective layer before the application of materials such as bandages, dressings, compresses and wound fillers.

Special Information

Actolind® w Gel, containing polyhexanide (PHMB), has been shown as the first choice in many wounds such as wounds at risk of infection, burns, and decontamination of acute and chronic wounds.
