Modern Wound Treatment

In the presence of exudate, there is a continuous release of low-dose ibuprofen into the wound bed throughout the duration of use of the dressing (up to 7 days).

Painless Wound Healing

Compared to dressings that do not contain ibuprofen, Biatain® has shown a reduction in wound pain in patients using ibuprofen.

Mechanism of Action

Ibuprofen is released when the foam dressing comes into contact with wound exudate.

Compound

Biatain® ibu is an absorbent polyurethane foam containing 0.5 mg/cm2 ibuprofen homogeneously distributed in the foam matrix.

Use

Non-adhesive Biatain® ibu is indicated for a variety of low to highly exuding wounds, including acute wounds such as second-degree burns, donor sites, postoperative wounds and skin abrasions, as well as chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and non-infected diabetic foot ulcers. Biatain® ibu is suitable for use in conjunction with compression therapy.
