Product Description
Biatain® Ag Adhesive is ideal for a wide range of exuding wounds with delayed healing or risk of infection thanks to its superior absorption and antibacterial effect.
Unique 3D Foam Structure for Superior Absorption
In contact with exudate, the unique 3D foam structure of Biatain® Ag Adhesive conforms closely to the wound bed for superior absorption – even under compression.
Designed to Prevent Infection
The long-term silver release profile results in a homogeneous distribution of silver ions, providing a sustained antibacterial effect throughout the entire wear period (up to 7 days).
Patented Silver Complex with Broad Antibacterial Profile
Independent studies have proven that Biatain® Ag is effective against bacteria commonly found in infected, non-healing wounds (3,4). Clinical studies have shown that infected wounds heal faster with Biatain® Ag than with other dressings, including other antibacterial dressings.
Provides continuous antibacterial effect throughout the entire period of use.
Thanks to its long-term silver release profile, there is a continuous antibacterial effect throughout the entire use period (up to 7 days).
Mechanism of Action
In the presence of exudate, silver is continuously released into the wound bed for up to 7 days.
Compound
Biatain® Ag Adhesive is a patented soft and flexible, absorbent polyurethane foam with a silver complex evenly distributed throughout the foam matrix.
Use
Biatain® Ag Adhesive can be used for a wide variety of exuding wounds that have delayed healing due to bacteria or are at risk of infection, including leg ulcers, pressure sores, second-degree burns, donor sites, postoperative wounds and skin abrasions. Biatain® Ag Adhesive can be used in combination with compression therapy.
