Mechanism of Action

Super absorbent particles absorb and retain high amounts of exudate. Fibres distribute exudate throughout the pad to maximise absorption. A high moisture vapour transmission rate contributes to superior exudate management properties.

Compound

Biatain® Super consists of a superabsorbent hydrocapillary pad with a semi-permeable, water and bacteria-proof top film, a hydrocolloid component for adhesion and a non-adherent wound contact layer. It is available in both adhesive and non-adhesive versions.

Use

Biatain® Super can be used to treat a wide range of exuding wounds including leg ulcers, pressure sores, diabetic foot ulcers, second degree burns, surgical wounds and skin abrasions. Biatain® Super is suitable for use under compression therapy.
