Gelfix Collagen Pad 5 x 5 cm 3 Pieces
Each 5x5 cm 250 mg collagen pad: Made from non-allergenic, heterogeneous, lyophilized and sterile cow/ox collagen. GELFIX 250 mg collagen pad is available in a single 5x5 cm blister.
Pharmacological Properties
GELFiX is made from non-allergenic, lyophilized, sterile type 1 equine collagen obtained from connective tendon structures of healthy cows/oxen. GELFiX is presented in the form of a pad made of light and spongy material that easily adapts to the areas where it is used.
It has specific applications in various conditions, including the treatment of various etiological cutaneous lesions such as accident or surgical wounds, venous ulcers, decubitus wounds, tooth extraction, etc. GELFIX helps the proliferation and development of healing tissues and granulation tissues.
The mechanism of action of GELFIX is as follows: invasion of the structure of the tissue and blood by macrophages and leukocytes; digestion by peptidases of the above-mentioned cells entails plastic regeneration of the injured tissues.
Pharmacokinetic Properties
GELFiX is used in the treatment of cutaneous lesions of different etiology, as shown by many clinical trials, and finds specific applications in vascular reconstructive surgery, vascular surgery, carotid surgery and odontology as a hemostatic agent. GELFiX accelerates coagulation, and its effectiveness is not compromised by its use in combination with anticoagulant treatments. GELFiX has high tissue compatibility, and its removal after the bleeding has stopped does not cause recurrent bleeding.
GELFiX is used as a first aid to control capillary bleeding and shorten the clotting time of flowing blood, as well as being suitable for surgical use. It uses its haemostatic effect through its effect on platelet aggression.
Indications
GELFiX enhances cicatrization of decubitus wounds, venous ulcers and active wounds.
