HEXATULLE Product Description

HEXATULLE is for topical use only. It is ideal for a wide variety of wounds, especially those at risk of infection or already infected. Potential uses and important information are detailed below:

Content of HEXATULLE:

Minor burns and scalds, lacerations, abrasions and other skin loss wounds, Donor and recipient graft sites, leg ulcers. Do not use on more than 15% of body site wounds for adults, or 10% of body site wounds for children.

Unsuitable Situations:

Do not use in cases of sensitivity or allergy to chlorhexidine. Dermatitis, contact sensitivity or photosensitivity may occur rarely. Do not use in these cases.

Warnings:

Avoid contact with eyes, middle ear, meninges and brain. HEXATULLE is incompatible with soaps, other anionic substances and potassium iodide. Avoid use of HEXATULLE with oxidizing wound cleansers. HEXATULLE is a single-use product. Cross-contamination or infection may occur if used on more than one patient.

Special Notes:

Clean the wound using standard techniques and choose the correct size dressing. Using gloves and forceps, remove the protective paper and place in a single layer over the wound. Apply a secondary absorbent dressing if necessary and secure in place with a dressing retention bandage or dressing fixation paper.

If the dressing sticks:

HEXATULLE may be left in place while the absorbent secondary dressing is changed. Frequency of change will depend on the clinical circumstances and may vary from once daily to twice weekly. If dressing adheres: Gently moisten with sterile saline solution.
